About Us

Welcome to German Mills P.S.

Our school officially opened on June 5, 1975. Our school is located on the traditional territory of the Wendat, Haudenosaunee, and Anishinaabe peoples. German Mills Public School is located on Treaty 13 land, signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.

The story of German Mills goes back to 1874 when this community was home to one of Markham’s first schools, School Section. No. 2. The first one room school house is a short walk from our current school location and is now known as the German Mills Community Centre.

Our school’s mission is to foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. Our vision is to empower learners to reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully to their communities. Our mission connects all generations of German Mills and our vision points us to the future.

We are committed to working with families to support student learning, achievement and well-being. Our staff work hard to create safe, caring and inclusive learning environments and opportunities that support student success. We invite you to explore our school website to learn more about our school community.
