Welcome to German Mills Public School — a school with a proud past and a bright future.
Since opening our doors in 1975 — and even before that, with the original School Section No. 2 established nearby in 1874 — German Mills has been a place where learning is valued, and community is cherished. Our 50th anniversary, celebrated in June 2025, was a milestone that offered us the opportunity to reflect on the strong foundation this school was built upon.
At German Mills, we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where student achievement and well-being are always a priority. We believe that fostering a positive climate for learning is essential to academic success and personal growth. Our vision is to empower students to reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully to the world around them.
We strive to nurture a community of learners who are critical thinkers, communicators, collaborators, and reflective individuals. We encourage open-mindedness, respect for diverse perspectives, and the use of thoughtful reasoning and evidence in decision-making. Our academic programs continue to focus on developing strong foundational skills, with a special emphasis on problem-solving in real-life contexts where learners can see themself in their learning. Our extra-curricular activities aim to create a diverse and strong sense of mattering and belonging for our students.
At German Mills, we proudly honour the legacy of those who helped shape our school and look ahead with optimism to the future. Whether you are a long-standing member of the German Mills community or joining us for the first time, your partnership is valued and appreciated. We are committed to working together to support the success and well-being of every student. We encourage you to contact your children's teachers or the administration should you have any questions or concerns.
We look forward to another great year of learning, growth, and community at German Mills.
